RE-PAVING OF THE FRONT QUAD

The front quadrangle is at the heart of St Edmund Hall. It forms the main entrance to the college and is where many historic buildings are situated. The centre of the quad has two grassed areas split by a central path with a medieval well shaft in the middle. The existing cracked and uneven concrete paving did not fit the character of this space and detracted from its fine historic buildings. The introduction of the York stone paving has improved the visual appearance of the quad, provided a more accessible  environment and enhanced the setting of the historic buildings.
