42 Park End Street - Sociology Department
Broadly, the project comprised the compete reordering and refurbishment of the fabric to the lower two floors of the former nightclub to provide office and teaching accommodation for the University of Oxford's Department of Sociology. Externally, the works involved cleaning and improving the facade, including the addition of external insulation with render and brick slips to the side and rear elevations, replacement of all windows and doors, partial re-roofing.
The building sits in a prominent position at the Eastern end of Park End Street. The buildings much needed refurbishment has brought new life to the building and as a result has enhanced the street scape on what is a principle access route into the City Centre.
The project was awarded a Certificate by the Oxford Preservation Trust in 2019.
